The success of London AI Group is driven by a team of highly skilled professionals who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of AI.

Joshua Placidi

Serves as our Lead Machine Learning Engineer. With a robust background in AI, Joshua holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Edinburgh University and a BSc in Computer Science from Swansea University. His diverse experience spans across several prestigious institutions and projects.

Working for Imperial College London, he researched multimodal deep learning approaches to scene text recognition in natural images, pushing the boundaries of how AI can interpret complex visual data. Additionally, during his time working at the Oxford Foundry at the University Oxford, Joshua worked with LiDAR technology combined with SLAM algorithms to generate detailed point clouds of real environments, contributing to advancements in spatial data processing.

His role at Bio-Tech Start Up, Better Origin, further solidified his practical skills, making him an invaluable leader in the implementation of our innovative AI solutions.

Milo Carroll

A PhD candidate at University College London (UCL) specialising in Reinforcement Learning, Probabilistic Modelling, and Robotics, and he plays a key role in developing the advanced capabilities of Vulcan AI. Milo holds an MSc in Artificial Intelligence from Edinburgh University and a BSc in Computer Science from Newcastle University.

His professional career includes working as a software engineer at FLAVR, where he honed his skills in software development. He then advanced to a position in Deep Reinforcement Learning at Shell, where he contributed to the exploratory division focused on developing new bio-fuels.

Milo’s combined experience in academia and industry equips him with a deep understanding of complex AI systems, making him a pivotal figure in the technical evolution of London AI Group.
